Megan Polack

BY MEGAN POLACK (’04)

I was a lifer at QMS and graduated in 2004. I started riding at QMS at age 7 and was lucky enough to have my own horse from grades 7-12.

I am still pursuing my passion for horses with the recent purchase of my dream horse, a golden palomino Akhal-Teke/Arabian cross. I also enjoy sharing my horse passion with my two young children. My 3-year-old daughter is already horse crazy and we enjoy spending hours together at the barn playing with her pony, who matches my horse in colour!

I am pursuing my passion for eye care through my work as an Optometrist in the Cowichan Valley. I hope I will have a positive impact on the vision and health of my patients. During my last year of Optometry school, I participated in an eye care mission to the Philippines. When travel resumes and my kids are older, I hope to join more eye care missions to help those with limited access to eye care and glasses.

I was shy and quiet as a child but the support I received and the positive experiences I had throughout my years at QMS gave me confidence to go out into the world for university and travel. QMS gave me the foundation necessary to become a health care professional in our community. I am confident QMS will provide my kids with the same wonderful school experience.
